Here's a snapshot of a few projects I've worked on:
"Aftershock Rescue" This is a 3-station interactive exhibit. Raise a Bridge, Light a House, Send a Car down the track: solve the hands-on pulley activity and one of these elements will engage in a miniature craft-paper city. Partner: Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, Portland General Electric
Infinity Rooms I was challenged with scratch building two infinity rooms to accompany an exhibit about optical illusions, as well as engage our audience through social media. Structural engineering, ADA Access, exterior treatment, interior content, mechanical engineering & blueprinting, and hand assembled in less than 90 days. Also, it had to break down for storage and transport. Partner: Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, Science Gallery of Dublin
Coastal Interactive Concept Working in support of our Exhibit Sales Team, I developed conceptual sketches and 3D plans for a traveling modular exhibit for a regional environmental conservation group. It required powered & non-powered modes and needed to engage a very broad age-range. Partner: Oregon Museum of Science & Industry, Oregon Marine Reserve Partnership
Cylinder Project I have a collection of small mopeds & motorcycles. This cast aluminum cylinder is an attempt at creating a high-performance replacement for for the existing original component. I designed the unit, crafted molds to form it: both through traditional lost-wax casting as well as a waxless destructible die molding, and I cast the aluminum myself with a miniature foundry at home.
